Bee Rowlatt is a writer and journalist who works in the British Library’s Cultural Events team. Her award-winning travelogue In Search of Mary (2015) was a ‘biography of the year’. She co-wrote the bestseller Talking about Jane Austen in Baghdad (2010) which was dramatised by the BBC, and is one of Virago’s Fifty Shades of Feminism (2013). Her play about Mary Wollstonecraft debuted in London’s West End and she led the team that delivered Maggi Hambling’s much-discussed Wollstonecraft memorial (2019). Bee judged The Poetry Society’s young writers’ challenge 2019, and has twice been on the judging panel for the Stanford Dolman Travel Book of the Year. She has written for BBC Online, The Telegraph, The Times of India and many others. She has lived and worked in India and Colombia, and chaired events around the world.
