Sumant Batra is an insolvency lawyer of global eminence. Distinguished Fellow of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, the Ministry of Corporate affairs, and Visiting Professor of National Law University, Delhi, Batra is ranked amongst the top 30 restructuring lawyers.
He holds the distinction of being the only International Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy from India. Sumant has been deeply engaged in shaping the insolvency policy in India. Batra’s book, Corporate Insolvency Principles and Practice is considered amongst the most authoritative scholarly work on insolvency. His book The Jaypee Infra Insolvency Saga, released recently, has generated rave reviews.
