Bio

A graduate of Smith College, Massachusetts, Adithi Rao was assistant director on Hindi film Satya, and writer / editor on the travel channel of Indya.com
Her children’s books Noon Chai and a Story and Candid Tales: India on a Motorcycle made it to the Parag Honour List, while Boy, Bear has been long-listed for the BK – Tata Lit Live Awards, 2022. Growing up in Pandupur, The Bhootbusters of Himmatnagar, Shakuntala & other Timeless Tales of Ancient India and Chuchu Manthu’s Jar of Toffees are her other books for children.
Adithi has also written books for adults and film scripts whose rights are bought by Aamir Khan Productions Ltd. and Excel Entertainment. “The Nights”, a play she co-scripted for Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust, debuted at the Festival Mondial des Theatres de Marionnettes, Charleville, France, 2021.
Director of the Kuyili!Unbuk Project for Katha, Adithi is also visiting faculty at the Srishti Manipal School of Art, Design and Technology. In her spare time, she takes long walks with the friendly street dogs, and cooks food that her family politely enjoys!
