Bio

Banashankari Kulkarni is from Gulbarga North Karnataka. Currently settled in Bangalore, she studied engineering in computer science, worked with few MNCs and is currently a private tutor and home maker.

After her marriage and baby she started writing on Pratilipi.

Entering Pratilipi as reader, she only wrote essays and articles. She never thought that she too could write stories. Her first story ‘ Garbha Dana’ on Pratilipi got a very good response and she has kept writing since. She now has 8724 followers and over 21 lakhs read count.

She has written 13 novels and 27 short and long stories. Her story ‘Sampradaya’ won first prize in the reader’s choice of the Jodi Chaye competition.

Her most popular stories are Naticharami, Janumada Bandha, Seleva Suliyolage and Vishram Estate.
