Bio

Biman Nath did his Schooling in Assam, College in Delhi, PhD in Univ of Maryland USA, Postdoctoral work in Germany, Pune, before joining the Raman Research Institute, Bangalore in 1997, wherehe has been working for the last 26 years. His research work is on the evolution of galaxies, and interaction with gas. He has written many popular science books in Bengali and English, and has written two novels (‘Nothing is blue’; HarperCollins India 2009; The tattooed fakir, Pan MacMilan 2012).
Recipient of Vikram Sarabhai award for space science (2006), Indira Gandhi prize for science popularization from Indian National Science Academy (2011), Rabindra Puraskar from Govt of WestBengal (2005) for science writing.
