Bio

Diaa Hadid is NPR’s woman in Mumbai, covering Afghanistan and South Asia. She migrated southwards from Islamabad, where she covered Pakistan and Afghanistan. She previously worked for the NYT and the AP, covering Israel and Palestinians, the Arab Spring and ISIS. She has a Lebanese face and an Australian accent.
