Odia poet, fiction writer, journalist and literary magazine editor, Gayatribala Panda has published seven collections of poems and her selected Odia poems translated into Hindi, named Dhoop ko rang. The anguish of a woman, social injustices and inequalities are the dominant themes of her poetry. She is Central Sahitya Akademi First Yuva Puraskar winner(Odia) for 2011. Among her several other honours and awards are State Youth Award for Poetry-1999-2000, Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award-2011 and Utkal Sahitya Samaj Yuva Kabi Samman-2010. She has participated in SAARC Young Writers Meet-2008 and Commonwealth Writers Meet-2010. As a poet she has been invited to literary conferences and festivals in various parts of India. Her work has been translated into several languages.
