Bio
Professor Graham Welch holds the Institute of Education, University of London Established Chair of Music Education (since 2001). He is a past president of the International Society for Music Education (ISME) (2008 to 2014), elected Chair of the internationally based Society for Education, Music and Psychology Research and past co-chair of the ISME Research Commission of ISME. He holds Visiting Professorships at universities in the UK and overseas and is also a member of the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council Review College for music. Internationally, he has acted as a specialist external consultant on aspects of children’s singing and vocal development for UK and Italian government agencies, as well as for specialist research centres in the USA, Australia and Sweden. Publications number over 300.
