Bio

Kumud Mishra is one of the most versatile actors in the contemporary Indian Theatre and Film Industry. He graduated from National School of Drama (NSD) in 1994. Immediately after his diploma in acting he moved to Mumbai and began his theatre work with veteran Satyadev Dubey.Some of his famous plays are Cotton 56, Polyester 84 and Turel directed by Sunil Shanbag,Shakkar Ke Paanch Daane, Ilhaam, Bali aur Shambhu by Manav Kaul. His latest work is critically acclaimed play ‘Kaumudi’ by Abhishek Majumdar and hit comedy Dhumrapaan by Akarsh khurana. He has won a META for Best Actor (Bali aur Shambhu).He is the founder and president of theatre company D for Drama.Kumud also appeared in few TV Serials including Swabhimaan, Mahayagya, Dollar Bahu, Badaltey Rishtey, Kisi ne Titli Ko Dekha Hai, Zameen Aasman etc. Kumud made his movie debut in the 1996 Shyam Benegal film Sardari Begum. Though he appeared in films like 1971 (2007) and That Girl in Yellow Boots (2010) in the subsequent years, it was his portrayal of the character Khatana Bhai in the musical romantic drama Rockstar (2011) that marked a turning point in his career. Since then, he has appeared in popular films like Raanjhanaa (2013), Badlapur (2015), Airlift (2016) and Jolly LLB 2 (2017). Sultan (2016), Rustom (2016), M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) , Tiger Zindagi hair, aiyyari, Firangi, Rukh, High jack (2017) in prominent roles.His performance is Anubhav Sinha’s Mulk (2018) & Article 15 (2018) is been praised all over.
