Bio
Maithili is a graphic designer with around twenty years of experience. She is the consulting Art Director at Speaking Tiger Books, India and former art director of Rupa Publications India. Penguin Books, India (where she worked as a Senior Designer) introduced her to the world of publishing. Since then Maithili has designed book covers as well as complete books in various genres—collaborating with illustrators, photographers, calligraphers as well as folk artists. She has been working on children’s picture books as an art director for Pratham Books Storyweaver and Talking Cub.
Before entering publishing, Maithili has worked with branding and design studios such as Ray and Keshavan (now Brand Union), Bangalore and DMA (now DY Works).
Maithili received the Oxford Book Store: Best Book Cover Prize 3rd Edition at the Jaipur Literature Festival (2018) and Special Jury Award Oxford Book Cover Prize 7th Edition (2022)
