Michael Heinst

Bio

Michael Heinst is Director, Goethe-Institut Bangalore, the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany. Born in Bocholt, Germany, studied in Munich, Berlin, and London; he holds a PhD in German Literature from King’s College London. Since November 2021, Michael Heinst has been the director of the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore, responsible for the South Indian states of Karnataka and Kerala. Before coming to India, Michael Heinst held the same position at the Goethe-Institut in the Mongolian capital city of Ulaanbaatar for six years.
