N. A. M. Ismail currently edits the online version of Kannada daily Prajavani. Outside his journalistic career spanning 20 years during which he worked for five newspapers, he is a technology enthusiast, free software activist, a political analyst and a media critic. He has edited four books and has been writing a regular Kannada column (ಇ-ಹೊತ್ತು) on “Information Technology and Society” and has been consulting on using regional languages in computers.
