Bio
Nagesh Hegde has obtained his Master’s degree in Geology from IIT Kharagpur and M.Phil. in Environmental Science from JNU. He taught Environmenal Geology in Kumaon University, Nainital before joining Prajavani as a journalist. He was also a Visiting Professor in IIJNM, a journalism college in Bengaluru.
His writings on science and environment have become textbook lessons in many universities in Karnataka. He has written more than 50 books on science and environment.
He was honoured with each of the topmost awards in journalism, literature and science communication in Karnataka. He is also a receipient of the Rajyotsava Award. He is the only person from Karnataka to win the National Award instituted by the Tata Trust for children’s literature. His column on science and environment in Prajavani is running in its record 43rd year. He is 77.
