Narendra Chirmule is the author of Good Genes Gone Bad: A short history of vaccines and biologics and the co-founder of SymphonyTech Biologics, a data analytics company. His specific expertise is in immunology as it relates to vaccines, biologics and gene therapies. He has a PhD in applied biology from the Tata Cancer Research Institute, Mumbai. He did his postdoctoral training at North Shore University Hospital–Cornell University Medical College, New York, and has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He has worked at Merck, Philadelphia, Amgen, Thousand Oaks, and Biocon, Bangalore. He has the unique experience of having spent almost equal tenures in school, academia, industry and corporate leadership. He is a reviewer with the HIV Vaccine Study Section for the National Institutes of Health. He is an academician and regularly conducts educational seminars on the interplay between biotechnology and self-awareness. He divides his time between Philadelphia, Bangalore, Pune and Mumbai.
