Niraja Gopal Jayal is Avantha Chair at King’s India Institute, King’s College London; Centennial Professor, Department of Gender Studies, London School of Economics, and formerly Professor at the Centre for the Study of Law and Governance at JNU. She is the author and editor of several books on citizenship and democracy.
