Bio

Rashmi Terdal is a journalist working with the Times of India, Bengaluru. Born and brought up in Dharwad, she studied Economics at the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune, and Mass Communication at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bengaluru. Besides socio-economic issues, she is passionate about Kannada poetry and fiction. She won Karnataka State Sahitya Academy Endowment Prize and Kuvempu Bhasha Bharati Award for her English translation of Mohanaswamy (Harper Collins, 2016), a collection of short stories in Kannada by eminent writer Vasudhendra. Her English translation of celebrated Kannada novelist SL Bhyrappa’s latest work Uttara Kaanda has been recently published by the Amazon-Westland. The novel is a retelling of Valmiki’s epic Ramayana from Sita’s perspective.
