Hi, my name is Rohit Bhasi
I am a Bengaluru based visual artist, working primarily in pen and paper the old fashioned way.
My work or let’s use the fancy word – practice, is greatly inspired and influenced by the storytelling traditions and evolving belief systems of communities around me, from places I have been to, and from the literature and performative practices I have been exposed to. The human body, with its immense possibilities for beauty, curiosity, creation and destruction, remains an eternal muse. Looking at the ancient through a contemporary lens is how I would like to describe my work in a nutshell, a many layered nutshell that is.
