Susan Visvanathan is the author of Something Barely Remembered (Roli Indiaink and Flamingo 2000), The Visiting Moon (Roli Indiaink 2002), Phosphorus and Stone (Zubaan and Penguin 2007),The Seine at Noon(Roli IndiaIink 2007) and Nelycynda and Other Stories ( Roli Indiaink 2012). She has also authored several Sociological works, the best known of which are The Christians of Kerala: History, Belief and Ritual (Oup 1993) The Children of Nature: The Life and Legacy of Ramana Maharshi (Roli Lotus 2010) and Friendship, Interiority and Mysticism (Orientblackswan 2007) Prof Visvanathan teaches Sociology,at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
