Venkatraman Ramakrishnan is an Indian origin, British-American structural biologist. He shared the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Thomas A. Steitz and Ada Yonath for research on the structure and function of ribosomes. His books include Why We Die: And How We Live: The New Science of Ageing and Longevity (2024) and Gene Machine: The Race to Decipher the Secrets of the Ribosome.
