Bio
Girish Rao Hatwar is popularly known with his pen name Jogi. It is the name coined by the first letter of his wife Jyoti and his name first name Girish. He is basically from South Canara, Karnataka presently residing in Bangalore for the last few decades.
Though he has a degree in commerce he chose to pursue journalism professionally. Writing, which started as a hobby, is his great passion today. He has authored 74 books so far which include 17 novels,19 short stories collection, 21 articles collection, 2 Plays, one book on Cinema, Screenplay and Direction, one book on storytelling and a few biographies.
In his splendid journey as a versatile writer, he has penned down various literature works, some of which are worth mentioning here. His column ‘Life is beautiful’ prompted a huge number of youngsters to pick up reading as a hobby. He was able to stunningly capture the pleasures, pains, apprehensions and perplexities of the city in words, in Five Volumes on Bangalore Metro City. He took his readers by a pleasant surprise with a different style of narrative with his novel L and Ashwatthaman. It secured a special place for him in the list of Kannada novelists.
He has also been a popular screenplay writer, story writer and director with more than a 80 television series and Five Movies in his credit so far. In the last Twenty-Five years, he has been actively writing columns for Kannada magazines. He has contributed immensely to the Kannada literature not only by writing but also by engaging himself with several activities like excursions, panel discussions, theatre, quality time with friends, reading clubs, mentoring new and young writers, brainstorming and being an cultural tastemaker. His plays have been performed at various theatres including NeeNaSam and others in Bangalore and Mysore cities.
He has bagged many awards for his work. To name a few, he got Karnataka State Award for the best Story for the film Kadabeladingalu; Pressclub Award for his contribution in Journalism; Vaddarase Raghurama Shetty Award, Amma award for his contribution to Journalism, Ha.ma.na award for his collection of articles, Kempegowda award for his overall contribution, Vishweshwarayya award and Suvarna Vahini award.
Presently he is the Chief Magazine Editor, Kannada Prabha.

G N Mohan is a senior Journalist and noted author who has an illustrious career as a media professional, publisher and author.
His passion for literature and theater helped him skillfully blend the nuances of literature with journalism in a career spanning about three decades. Mohan is one among the few media professionals who have left an imprint on print, radio, television and digital media.
He started his career as a reporter with Prajavani Kannada daily and later moved to television journalism. As editor and senior editor, Mohan led three television news channels- the ETV Kannada news, Samaya 24X7 news and the News 18 Kannada Channel. He was invited to Atlanta by CNN Channel as part of their International Professional Program and has been recognised by CNN as a member of Television journalists dedicated to worldwide free flow of information.
Presently Mr Mohan is working as Editor in Chief of Avadhimag- the popular e-magazine on Kannada literature and culture. He founded avadhimag.in, a unique digital magazine in Kannada in the year 2008 and in the past 14 years, Avadhi has established itself as a platform to nurture new literary talents and promote Kannada language and literature across the globe. Avadhimag is the only digital magazine that bagged the prestigious Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award for excellence in literature and digital journalism.
He launched Bahuroopi, a well-known imprint in the Kannada publication industry. Bahuroopi was instrumental in ushering in professional standards in book production and innovative experiments in designing and printing. Bahuroopi has bagged national awards for book production and designing.
As an extension of the publication, he co founded Bahuroopi Book hub- a unique concept book experience store in Bengaluru. Bahuroopi Book Hub in Sanjay Nagar Bengaluru is an aesthetically designed book experience store that is also a hub of book, culture, and literature-related events and activities.
Mr Mohan is also a Karnataka Sahitya academy, Nataka academy, Media academy award-winning writer and has penned more than 20 books that include poetry, memoirs, essays on media and current affairs and analysis. The Karnataka govt has recognised him for his contribution to development journalism.
