Bio
Gurcharan Das is a renowned author, commentator, and public intellectual. He is the author of two best sellers, India Unbound and The Difficulty of Being Good, which are volumes one and two of a trilogy on life’s goals. His latest book, Kama: A Riddle of Desire is the third. His other literary works include a novel, A Fine Family, a collection of plays for the theatre, Three Plays, and a book of essays, The Elephant Paradigm. His last book, India Grows at Night was on the FT’s best books for 2013. He is general editor for Penguin’s multi-volume ‘Story of Indian Business.’ He studied philosophy at Harvard University and was CEO, Procter & Gamble India before he became a full time writer. He writes a regular column for six Indian newspapers, including The Times of India and occasional pieces for The Financial Times and Foreign Affairs and New York Times.
Shoba Narayan

Bio
Shoba Narayan owns a cow. She also spends a lot of time thinking about how to improve her memory, and become fit without exercising. She is the author of four books, Monsoon Diary, Return to India. Katha and The Cows of Bangalore. A long time ago, she won a couple of awards, which allow her to conveniently add the phrase ‘award-winning author” to her books. She is a columnist for HT Brunch and has written for a number of publications. She is an alumnus of the Columbia Journalism School, Mount Holyoke College and WCC. She spends her spare time chasing cows off road dividers and evangelizing A2 milk to anyone who will listen.
