Meeran Borwankar belongs to 1981 batch of the Indian Police Service (Maharashtra Cadre). Was Director General, Bureau of Police Research and
Development (BPR&D), Director General National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Chief of Maharashtra Prison Department, Commissioner of Police Pune, Chief of Crime Branch Mumbai, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mumbai. She also worked in Economic Offences and Anti-corruption wings of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Management’ from Pune University and is a Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow from University of Minnesota USA. A Law graduate, she is currently a
member of the Core Advisory Group on Criminal Justice System Reforms constituted by the National Human Rights Commission and an Independent
External Monitor (IEM) for the Union Bank of India (UBI) and National Aluminium Company Ltd. (NALCO). She is on boards of different academic
Recipient of President of India Police Medal for Distinguished Services 2006, Police Medal for Meritorious Services 1997 & Distinguished
Leadership Award 2008’ from University of Minnesota. Dr. Borwankar specializes in Investigation of financial crime, crime against women and children, Law & Governance, Human Rights & Gender. She has deep knowledge of the criminal Justice system of India. Author of two books, ‘Leaves of Life’ and ‘Inspector Chougule’, she conducted a research study on ‘Gender in Maharashtra Police’ and writes extensively for national and international journals. Her third book ‘Madam Commissioner’ has recently been released by Pan Macmillan, India.
Shevlin Sebastian has been a journalist for over three decades.
Shevlin has worked for magazines like Sportsworld, Kolkata, The Week, Kochi, the Hindustan Times in Mumbai, and the New Indian Express in Kochi. He briefly worked in DC Books, Kottayam.
Shevlin has published four novels for children and a true crime book, ‘The Stolen Necklace’ published by HarperCollins. He is working on his second crime book.
