Bio
A member of the 1976 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Mr. K. Jairaj retired as Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Karnataka.
Mr. Jairaj has held key appointments in the Infrastructure, Energy, Transport and Urban Development sectors including Principal Secretary and ACS , Energy Department and Chairman, BESCOM; Managing Director, Bangalore International Airport Ltd.; Managing Director, Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd.; Managing Director, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation; Commissioner, Bangalore City Corporation (BBMP) for two terms; Commissioner for Commercial Taxes and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Karnataka.
With Mr. N.R. Narayanamurthy as Chairman, Mr. K. Jairaj helped establish the Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), India’s first Greenfield Airport, on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis. Mr. Jairaj has served with the World Bank, Washington DC., USA, as Senior Public Sector Management Specialist.

An LLB, triple Gold Medalist, a qualified Chartered Accountant with a national merit rank to his credit, and the recipient of a Living Legend of the Law Award conferred upon him by the Bar Association of India, SS Naganand begun his legal career spanning almost four decades, in the year 1981. He was designated Senior Advocate by the High Court of Karnataka in 2003 and is currently serving as the Vice President of the Bar Association of India. Chairman of the Maharani Laxmi Ammani College and Trust, a Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, a member of the Board of Management of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning among other eminent positions.
As founder and Senior Partner at Justlaw, his practice spans Corporate and Commercial Laws, International Trade and Business Laws, Taxation Laws, Intellectual Property Law, Infrastructure, Power & Electricity Laws, Venture Capital Investments, Insolvency and Bankruptcy law, Arbitration, Mediation and Land Laws. This is supplemented by a strong pro bono practice that ensures that his love for the law is as alive as his strong commitment to contributing to society.
