Bio
Ravi Shankar Etteth is the author of five novels The Tiger by the River (2002) The Village of the Widows (2003) The Gold of Their Regrets (2009) The Book of Shiva (2016) and The Brahmin (2018). He is a graphic designer, political cartoonist and has edited magazines and newspapers. He currently lives in Delhi and works as Consulting Editor with The New Indian Express Group.

Bio
Ravi Joshi studied at Manasa Gangotri, Mysore where he did his MA in Political Science in 1974. Then he went on to do his M Phil on China from the School of International Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
He passed the Civil Services exams in 1977 and after a ten-year stint in the Ministry of Defense, joined the Indian external intelligence service, the Research & Analysis Wing, and served for over 25 years. He has had three diplomatic assignments: in the Maldives, Kenya, and Austria.
During his tenure in the R&AW, he has served on several important desks handling China, Pakistan, Russia, Central Asia, Iran, and West Asia and has travelled widely in all those countries.
After his retirement in 2013, he joined the Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi, as a Visiting Fellow and has written extensively on international affairs for several print and online media organizations such as the Economic Times, The Quint, and The Open Magazine.
Since 2019 he has settled down in Mysore and has been writing regularly on the national political scene for the Deccan Herald and occasionally for The Wire.
