Kusuma Ayarahalli - Bangalore Literature Festival (BLF)

Bio

Kusuma is from Ayarahalli, a village near Mysore. She actively participated in many movements during her student days. She began her work in media by being active in ‘Akashavani.’ For decades she worked as a dialogue and scriptwriter for famous directors and for many channels. She has two decades of wide experience in both news and entertainment media, and worked as “Content Head” for leading production houses. She was a columnist for Vijaya Karnataka, a leading Kannada newspaper. Her debut book was a short story collection called “Yoltin Keli.” She later went on to write a novel called “Daari.” She has been the recipient of the Dr. Ha. Ma. Nayak Award and the Kittur Rani Chennamma Award. She is now active in agricultural work in Ayarahalli and is also working for “Parisara Balaga,”a team that takes up lake restoration and other environment-friendly tasks.
