B M Hanif has been working as journalist for the last 28 years in an esteemed newspaper of Karnataka. He is at present the assistant editor of Prajavani-Sudha. He has written a number of articles on politics, cinema and culture in Prajavani, the leading daily of Karnataka and Sudha Weekly. He has been a censor committee member of Bangalore Doordarshan for 3 years, a member of the state cinema award committee twice in 2006 and 2011 has published a number of books in Kannada.
