Bio
Bas Böttcher is one of the founders of the German speaking Poetry Slam. He has won the German Poetry Slam Prize several times over. His lyrics are regarded as classical slam poetry. They have been published in schoolbooks and collections of German poetry (Der Neue Conrady, Lyrikstimmen a.o.).
Apart from his two volumes of poems Dies ist kein Konzert and Neonomade, he published the DVD Poetry Clips together with Wolf Hogekamp. The Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) titled him recently as a “pop-poetry-pioneer”. His other renowned works are Megaherz (2004), Die Poetry-Slam-Expedition (2009) and Vorübergehende Schönheit (2012). He lives in Berlin.
During his stay in Bangalore, Bas Böttcher will conduct Poetry Slam Workshops for children and adults at the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan and at the Bangalore Literature Festival. He will also perform at both venues.
