Bio

Anna Chandy has been deeply involved in the mental health domain in India for more than 25 years. Her body of work encompasses counselling individuals from various walks of life including social influencers, entrepreneurs and business families; training and mentoring counsellors; and leading important strategic interventions aimed at driving systemic change in the country’s mental health ecosystem.

Drawing on her rich experience, Anna has pioneered changes in the counselling profession in India, advocating international standards of practice and an ethical and relational approach to counselling.

She is accredited to the prestigious International Transactional Analysis Association and runs advanced Personal Development Programs using Transactional Analysis (TA) as well as training groups to certify towards becoming Certified Transactional Analysts in Coaching, Counselling or Adult Education.

As a philanthropist and a widely acknowledged thought leader in the mental health sector, she is now partnering with social influencers to create a community support model that addresses the mental health needs of a societal ecosystem.

She also serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of The Live Love Laugh Foundation (TLLLF), a charitable trust which was founded in 2015 by actor Deepika Padukone, to give hope to every individual experiencing stress, anxiety and depression.

Anna is a columnist and author and her first book, “Battles in the Mind – Conquering and Winning Over Emotional Pain,” was published by Penguin Random House in June 2017. Anna believes difficult times provide a space for deep self-introspection, reflection and learning. She has addressed a range of audiences in India and globally, including at TEDx.

Previously, Anna has also worked with survivors of the Gujarat Earthquake and the victims of the Tsunami in Sri Lanka and India in psycho-socio rehabilitation work.
