
Bio
A distinguished Kannada critic, Asha Devi hails from Neralige in Davangere district. A post-graduate MA from Bengaluru University, she pursued her PhD thesis on the “Influence of Renaissance Criticism on Western Criticism” under the guidance of D.R. Nagaraj. Her publications include the works of literary criticism, Belakiginta Bellage (Whiter than Light, 2016) and Naduve Suliva Atma (The Moving Self Within, 2011). She has more than 20 publications to her credit in Kannada and English. She is Professor and Director of the Department of Kannada at Maharani Cluster University, and is a recipient of the Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research from the Government of India and the Sahityashri Award from the Government of Karnataka.
