Bio

Bhagyajyoti Hiremath is from a small town called Gudigeri in Kundgol taluk of Dharwad district. She has done her MA and MEd post graduation degrees, and she has a PhD in the “Lyric Analysis of Kannada Cine Songs” from Kannada University, Hampi.

‘Padagandha’ (2016) and ‘Bidira Binnah’ (2023) are Bhagyajyoti’s published poetry collections. Her collection Padagandha received the Madhurachenna Datti Award from the Karnataka State Sahitya Academy in 2017. The manuscript of her collection of poems ‘Bidira Binnaha’ received the Vibha Award in 2023.

One of Bhagyajyoti’s stories ‘Gol Gumbaz Express’ won the third prize in the Veeraloka Kathasankranti Competition. Her story ‘Ditada Nade’ won the silver medal in the 2024 Jayateertha Rajapurohita Katha Competition organized by Gulbarga University.

Bhagyajyoti has worked as a Kannada lecturer and radio anchor.
