Important Folklorist. His works on Tulu Paddana is remarkable. He edited and wrote several books on Karnataka folk literature and culture. He is the recipient of Karnataka Sahitya Akademi award. He is the recipient of Tulusahityaakademi award and Shivaramkaranth award.
