Bio
Prof. KE Radhakrishna is a distinguished multilingual scholar and an eminent literary figure whose contributions span across Kannada, English, and Tulu. A nationally acclaimed educationist, he has served in several prestigious bodies including the UGC, NAAC, and various State and Central Advisory Committees in the fields of Culture and Education.
A prolific writer, Prof. Radhakrishna has authored 50 books across diverse genres. His repertoire includes poetry, novels, translations, columns, drama, cultural studies, and interdisciplinary works. His acclaimed plays—Navilu Purana, Shraddha, and the musical Yakshagana ballet Gopikanmada—have been staged numerous times. Notably, Gopikanmada, rendered by leading artists, has garnered over one lakh listeners on YouTube, showcasing his cultural influence and artistic reach.
Prof. Radhakrishna’s literary excellence has earned him numerous accolades. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to literature and culture, the Government of Karnataka conferred upon him the Rajyotsava Award, and the Karnataka State Open University honoured him with a Doctorate (Honoris Causa).
His deep association with Yakshagana began in his childhood, where he performed varied roles and mastered the art of Talamaddale. His unique scholarship lies in his ability to interpret sculptures, epics, and Puranas with contemporary relevance—while remaining faithful to their original philosophical depth and narrative spirit.
With his refined expression and commitment to pure and classical Kannada, Prof. Radhakrishna continues to enrich society with the literary, cultural, and ethical values rooted in India’s timeless heritage.
