Laxmi Murthy works with the International Federation of Journalists on issues of press freedom and journalists’ rights. She edits the IFJ’s annual South Asia Press Freedom Report and conducts research and training on journalists’ rights, gender equity, press freedom and impunity. She is Consulting Editor with Himal Southasian, the region’s only political review magazine. She has been associated with the Network of Women in Media, India, since its inception in 2002. Her most recent publication is Garrisoned Minds: Women and Armed Conflict in South Asia.
