Meenakshi Jain is a scholar interested in cultural and religious developments in India. She has authored several books on Hindu sacred sites, and the fate of images when temples were attacked.
In 2020, she was awarded Padma Sri by the Government of India for her contribution to literature and education. Her latest book is The British Makeover of India. Judicial and other Indigenous Institutions Upturned.
