Bio

Nandini is a writer and translator based in Madras. Her books include “Hitched: The Modern Indian Woman and Arranged Marriage” (Random House, 2013) and “Invisible Men: Inside India’s Transmasculine Networks” (Penguin, 2018). Her first novel, “DOOM”, co-written with filmmaker Kannan Iyer, is forthcoming from Westland. She was shortlisted for the Ali Jawad Zaidi Memorial Prize for Urdu to English Translation in 2022 and won the Festival Des Écrivains du Monde fiction prize in 2014. Her translations from Tamil include the “Ponniyin Selvan” series by Kalki, and novels by Perumal Murugan and Charu Nivedita.
