
Bio
Saskya Jain grew up in New Delhi. Educated at Berlin’s Free University and Columbia University, New York, she holds a Masters degree in fiction from Boston University, where she was the recipient of the Florence Engel Randall Award for Fiction and the Robert Pinsky Global Fellowship for travel to Iran in 2010. Her translation of renowned German academician, Erika Fischer-Lichte’s The Transformative Power of Performance: A New Aesthetics was published by Routledge in 2008. One of her short stories was a finalist in the 2011 Asian-American Short Story Contest, and her writing has appeared in Literary Imagination, Hyphen Magazine and The Baffler. She was a Fall 2012 resident at Ledig House in upstate New York and Writer-in-Residence at the Goethe-Institut Bangalore in January 2013. She is currently working on her debut novel.
