Sheela Tomy is a novelist and short-story writer from Kerala. Her debut novel ‘Valli’ won Cherukad Award for Malayalam Literature. ‘Valli’ in English had received many accolades. ‘Valli’ was shortlisted for many national and international awards including the JCB Award for Literature, BLF Book Prize and ALTA National Translation Prize. Her newest novel, Aa Nadiyodu Preu Chodikkaruth (translated as ‘Do Not Ask the River Her Name’ in English), is well acclaimed and received many recognitions. She has also authored a short-story collection.
