
Bio
A student of literature from the University of Mysore, Susan Daniel pursued multiple careers.
- Served as Teacher / Academician at the University of Mysore.
- As a women’s rights activist as also activist for civil liberties, was involved in and championed social causes related to women and disadvantaged groups in and around Mysore.
- Migrated to the Nilgiris and ran a press and edited a newsmagazine for the district.
- Represented the Nilgiris in the SAARC international Folklore Conference 2007, and International Trade Fair Conference.
- Engaged in entrepreneurial activities related to education in the district in addition to Cross Cultural studies for (Semester Abroad certification programs) for students from the US (for a short period). Taught communication skills through drama to underprivileged children in Ooty.
- Edited a magazine for Translation ‘Anuvada’ (for private circulation). As a translator (from Kannada to English) have been a recipient of : The Kuvempu Bhasha Bharathi 2015, Bengaluru, The Sahithya Academy Award 2019, The Women’s Day Award, Nilgiris 2020, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Award, 2021.
