Noisy Neighbor: Bangalore Meets Berlin - Hand Puppetry And Hip-Hop | Paul Affeld and Gubbi

How do we live our life in a big city? How do we get in touch with people of our environment? Do we ignore or confront ourselves and others? Noisy neighbor will be a piece about the powers of our subconscious and the realm of invisibility, about the life in a metropolis, how we cope with our surroundings as well as our inner self.

The artistic duo Paul Affeld and Gubbi represent a cultural fusion of a special kind – Paul is a puppeteer and musician from Berlin and Gubbi a rapper with Bangalore roots known as one of the first to use literally Kannada language in his tracks.

The two musicians met this summer during Paul’s stay as a bangaloREsident@Jagriti Theatre as part of Max Mueller Bhavan’s artist-in-residence program bangaloREsidency which connects German artists with local partners from Bangalore. The piece is exclusively developed for the Bangalore Literature Festival through a 10-day work process.

Noisy neighbor will be presented lyrically in multiple languages with dialogues, music and puppets on stage.
