Never have children been so eager to answer quiz questions! Then again, when the prizes are Amar Chitra Katha comics, it is to be expected!
The kids were on the edge of their seats – and in some cases not even on their seats – as they answered the questions thrown at them.
The quiz was conducted by Reena Puri, editor of Amar Chitra Katha. The kids were divided into groups who had to write down the correct answer. Each group had an assigned runner, who had to take the answer to Ms. Puri. The questions ranged from history to mythology to general knowledge. Though the session was post-lunch, an afternoon siesta wasn’t on any child’s mind! Each kid wanted to shout out the answer when asked, “Where is the Taj Mahal located?” In an atmosphere of mild mayhem and a whole lot of fun, the kids learnt new things. Amar Chitra Katha is an ideal destination for the best in Indian stories. They have a variety to choose from, from the great epics, mythology, history, literature, oral folktales and many other sources. With more than 400 comics in 20+ languages that have sold more than 100+ million copies to date, Amar Chitra Katha is a cultural phenomenon.
